Nautical Twilight, 2024

I’ve always had visions of octopuses in strange places. They usually happen when I’m overtired or when I’m in a dimly lit room with a lot of clutter—I’ll see a brief glimpse of an octopus floating near the ceiling, or tentacles from behind the bookcase. It’s not a hallucination; it’s that thing that happens when you can’t see with perfect clarity, so your mind fills in the gaps. I guess my overactive imagination just happens to fill in those gaps with creatures from the deep.
